On October 21st, GoSCM hosted an engaging and highly successful roundtable at the SAP Spain offices in Madrid. The event brought together supply chain professionals and industry leaders from the pharmaceutical and consumer products sectors to explore how digital tools like SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) can revolutionize supply chain operations.
A Case Study in Innovation
The highlight of the morning was the presentation of a compelling case study by Megalabs, showcasing their digital transformation journey with SAP IBP. Guided by their Global COO, Ana Carina Delgado Panasco, and Senior Planning Analyst, Gabriela Peyrous, Megalabs demonstrated how they streamlined their planning processes to manage over 1,800 pharmaceutical products across 17 production plants and meet the demand of over 20 countries.
Participants were particularly impressed with the results, which included improved demand forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization, and enhanced collaboration across departments and suppliers.
«Governance of data is a key point, and AI is a must,» noted Paloma Franco Pelegrin, Supply Chain Director at Henkel, who emphasized the importance of leadership buy-in for implementing innovative tools like IBP.
A Platform for Networking and Knowledge Sharing
In addition to the case study, attendees had the opportunity to discuss real-world challenges and solutions in supply chain management. Insights on the role of Artificial Intelligence in IBP were shared, including a demonstration of SAP Joule Copilot, which impressed participants with its potential to drive planning efficiency.
